Why Functional rehab was created

 
 

Fxnl Rehab & Athletic Development was created to teach the greater San Diego area how a balance of strength, mobility, and primitive movement patterns will reduce your chronic pain, increase your resilience, and increase your performance in sport and life.  

Dr. Daniel Cordero D.C. provides a complete process from injury and rehabilitation to strength and conditioning for sport.  His visits are not the typical chiropractic, physical therapy, or personal training visits.

 If you have gone to see a chiropractor, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and/or physical therapy for pain relief with little to no long standing results, then it's time to see Dr. Daniel Cordero.  It's time to try a different approach to musculoskeletal pain.

Most biomechanical injuries are due to asymmetrical mobility and, or stability in movement.  The process of rehabilitation is not quick and effortless, restoring the balance of mobility and stability/strength in all ranges of movement is one of our goals to a treatment program.  Long term relief is gradual and life changing.  

 

Sprain, strains, aches, pains, acute trauma, surgery... any injury that changes your movement for more than a few days will require an extensive rehabilitation phase followed by a resilience/strength phase.  Injuries will accumulate, altering movement and adding stress and injury to other areas of the body. The Body moves as a system with subsystems, a change in the subsystem will disrupt other subsystems.

Methods used

Our philosophy of pain, injuries, strength, and rehabilitation is not what you will typically find in a chiropractic, physical therapy, or personal training facility.  Our treatments are based on leading evidence based expert chiropractors, massage therapist, physiotherapist, and strength coaches around the world.    

 

A variety of tools are used to teach patients how to move effectively and efficiently.  The tools include kettlebells, barbells, indian clubs, elastic bands, dumbbells, foam rollers, sand bags, and the most effective tool your own body.

 

Expectations

Expect to see a different way of looking at injuries and why they happen, you will be asked to demonstrate movements, you may experience rapid results (that doesn't mean that youre healed), you will have to work to see long standing improvements.

Crossfitters, weightlifters, body builders, obstacle course racers, golfers, endurance athletes, team sports players, individual athlete sports, you don't have to be an athlete to be treated here at Fxnl Rehab.  Dr. Daniel Attracts these types of patients because of his experience being a certified strength coach, personal trainer, and hockey player.

Our goal is to get our patients participating in their health care.  Active care will produce rapid, and long term results.  Passive care will force the patient to become dependent on the practitioner for short term relief.
